Northern Prospector Article on Canalaska Uranium - Exploring for Uranium in Saskatchewan and Manitoba

  CanAlaska News Release - 08232007

"CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. is exploring over 10,000 square kilometres (4,000 square miles) in and around the Athabasca Basin. With several world class partners, and a highly skilled and experienced management team, the company has positioned itself for exploration success.

Since coming on the scene in 2004, CanAlaska has expended over $25 million in uranium exploration, and has commenced drilling several targets with great success.

With uranium oxide (U3O8) prices well off their low of $7 dollars a pound ($80.00 per pound at the time of writing), this company is in the right place at the right time.

Home to 30% of the world's mined uranium production, the Athabasca Basin deserves the appellation as "The Saudi Arabia" of uranium because of the richness of its deposits and the increasing realization of the potential to find more.

The unique geology of the basin, and the underlying uranium rich rocks which form bands across the Canadian Shield allow for the formation of staggeringly rich uranium deposits. This rich value of ore allowed production to continue in the basin throughout the uranium price downturn between 1981 and 2004.
