Location
The Cree West project is composed of 4 claims in two groups on the north side of Cree Lake. They are 25 km from the edge of the Athabasca Basin and 66 km north west of Key Lake.
Geology
The claims lie on the Cable Bay Shear Zone which is a major boundary between the Lower Proterozoic (Trans-Hudson) Mudjatik and Virgin River domains. The Mudjatik domain is composed of felsic granitoids and minor supercrustals, while the Virgin River is composed of metamorphosed sediments and greenstones on a granitoid basement. The Shear Zone itself is a lineament with a strong magnetic signature. Both of these domains are overlain by 400 -- 600 metres of Athabasca sandstone and conglomerates in the project area.
Exploration
There has been limited exploration in the past by Uranerz
and PNC exploration, including boulder prospecting, lake
sediment geochemistry, geophysics, and basement geology
interpretation.
