The area covers the sedimentary Athabasca Basin which in turn overlies a series of heavily metamorphosed domains. The Athabasca  basin is composed of layered conglomerate, shales and sandstone. The underlying Archean domains are composed of  orthogneisses and paragneisses. Recent mapping by the government of historical magnetic data, has interpreted several major structures on the property.
